The abbreviated version of my post on fandom and obsession is:
I don’t get more involved in the fandoms here on Tumblr is that they freak me out with their levels of obsession, the fact that people have very strict ideas regrading the show/film/book/band, people analyse the crap out their favourite film/show/whatever in order to support their ideas, and that they make rules (written or unwritten) regarding what it means to be a fan.
These ideas aren’t the part that actually get to me - it’s that the people who do the above assume that others agree with them.
And that annoys the fuck out of me.
EDIT: I have no idea where to put the jam/kittens/jumpers/JAWN part of the Sherlock fandom. I don’t even know why the fuck this exists.
